Wow the country of Mt Fuji and Ninjas.

Japan has been a country shrouded in mystery due to the culture and how closed it has been through out the centuries.
I teach many Japanese in my English classes and the students are the most eager to learn students. They try so hard because they dont want to fail or even be seen to fail. Decisions to act are very carefully considered and once a choice is made every effort is put into the task at hand.

The Wikipedia tells us that Ninjas were a group of mercenaries who were very covert in their actions. It was a closely guarded network and has only become more known as Japan opened more to the rest of the world in the last century.

Japanese Jewelry has many different styles from traditional to newer contemporary styles such as these.

Cartoons such a Manga style have become very popular in the last years and cutesie pieces as in my pic  (sometimes quality leaves a lot to be desired) and Hello Kitty are common even with more mature ladies. The simple childlike "wonder" is still in place.

My Jewelry is still mostly on the bench. I am working with some Larimar which is very popular with Japanese people because of its colour. Sapphires and Rubies are also very popular in the Jewelry market for Japanese. Here is a piece that is completed. It is a unisex piece that would suit a man as well as a lady.Sterling Silver and Larimar. Simple, understated and very beautiful colour stone.

There is so much more to Japan than I can put in one simple little blog. So many facets that I have left untouched but the longer I live in Asia and the more contact I have with people from Japan, the more I have learnt and understand about a mystical culture that shows one side to the world but has so much more depth behind.

Please check out the other countries that the other participants researched and enjoy your virtual travel around the world.

Free Beads for blogging is going great guns and I am happy to say all five spots were filled last week.
Yes I am late again. My head and a little bit of life got in the way.Let me explain.
Suglite Cab

This lovely stone as cut for me by an inexperienced cutter who unfortunately cut the rough the wrong way to get the best colour. This is one of the rejects and looks a little black when not in full sun but has divine purple colour otherwise. I have this and few more if you are interested email me.
So I was introduced to a new guy.....Well he promised me as part of the contract we made he would only cut the rest of the rough to get the best colour out of the stone that was left. I figured there was about 20-40 carats of colour in the stones I left him with. I was excited because Sugilite is a beautiful stone and quite rare and expensive. I went back when they rang to say they were done and he had cut all the rough and ALL the stones were black.Only one had a streak of colour that was in the middle and NO purple in the others. I told him I was not paying and he suggested he recut it for me to see if there was anyway to improve on his work. I told him not to bother but he did anyway.

So I went back and now even the one that had colour has no colour and this man wants me to pay $1.20 a carat for cutting. There is about 500 carats in the bundle. I refuse because he still hasnt done what he said he would do and I left.
This was about 2 weeks ago. Since then the phone has not been quiet and the threats started so I went to the police to sort it all. Truth has prevailed and he is in trouble if he doesnt leave me alone.
The biggest problem was that the stress set me off.My head has had really bad days and I was not able to focus on anything more complex than a simple FB posting for many days. Sleep was had but it didnt help much. I think the last giveaway blog post was the biggest thing I did in a short while (check that out too and go in the draw for the Rubies and Pearls). So now I am back on track.
Oh and we had baby bunnies. Will post about them another day.

Here are the winners from last week. This weeks will be announced on Sunday and cut off day for this week is today. If you have tried before and want to still be in the running then please comment on a post  and I will put you in the draw for the week. Fair's fair.

I am having to put this on hold for a bit. I have cancer and as such cant focus on here. Please note I will be in touch as soon as I am well enough to play or if I am not able to someone will let you all know.Love and hugs Tanya

After sitting and playing with my lovely gemmies and metals a little of late I want to share.
It is my hope for as many of you who ask, to be able to play as well.
Starting this week we will give away up to 5 parcels of beads to those who have a current, active blog. As time goes on depending upon interest this number may increase.
All items that are sent out will be available through our Etsy store unless sold out.

The game rules are :
1. Have a blog that is current (in other words you must be using it regularly and not just once in a blue moon).
2. You are being asked to host the blog button in the pages you blog about your free beads. Copy and paste the code from below.
3. You are asked to blog a minimum of three times about the beads you get; once when you get them (a pic is good with a link as to where you got them), the second time as you create (a work in progress) and the final time is when your creation is completed. You are not expected to use every bead (but you can) and you can add in items from your own stash to complete the items you make.
4. Share your blog pages with us and others.
That's all.

How to play:
1. Copy the code for the button and put it in your blog.
2. Leave a comment with your blog address so I can follow you.
3. Follow us so you can keep up with all the news.
4. If you dont win this week come back again another week and leave a comment and your blog address so I can enter you in that weeks draw.Make sure I can find an email as this is how I will notify you when you win.If your unsure email me at fusionmuseoffice@gmail.com and I will record it. Thanks
5. Have fun.

What you will get :
I will send you a set of beads enough to make at least a necklace if not more. Value will be dependant upon stock available. Findings may be include depending upon what is available.
Shipping will be by registered Air Mail and depending upon your location may take 10-21 days to arrive. Your parcel will need a signature for collection and will be trackable so we know you have them.

Fine Print :
1. You can apply for giveaway beads as often you want but the limit is one set per household per three months. (This gives time for others to play as well as for you to create).
2. If you choose not to follow the rules then we will choose not to allow you to play again.

The Code for the Button
Copy and Paste this html code into your blog page when blogging about your Beads so that others can have a chance to play too.

Thank You for Playing and please come by our store to see what other goodies we can send you in the bundle.

I am excited to share. Looking forward to sending out parcels.
Love and Hugs
Tanya

Thoughtful Thursday

I have been sorting myself for the last few weeks. Oh my Gosh what a mess!!!! LOL
My life has been kind of on hold because my headache returned and so I was trying to work out how to reduce the headache. I even went off my pain meds to see if that would help and whilst it did for a few days I am now using them again to get through the day.
So a Thoughful Thursday. There are so many many ideas running in my head and it is time to implement them. As a result one of the things I want to do is the join the Bead Soup Blog Hop. Once a year it is hosted by the lovely Lori and here is the link. Sign up is this weekend. You can join too as long as you fit the rules.
Ok off to do some more.
See you tomorrow.
